The surgeons at Melbourne Ear Specialists have all completed Ear, Nose, and Throat surgical training and are fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. They have also undertaken post-fellowship sub-specialty training at International Centres of excellence in ENT Surgery and Otology. They have clinical appointments at the RVEEH in the Otology unit and the Cochlear Implant Clinic.

Professor Briggs also has appointments at the Royal Melbourne and the Royal Children's hospitals and Associate Professor Jean-Marc Gerard has appointment at the Austin.

All three surgeons are affiliated with the University of Melbourne and/or the Bionics Institute for involvement in clinical research.
